Trust the Unknown & Embrace Change
Introduction: When Energy Feels Like It’s Gone
Do you ever have those days where your energy is just gone—like you’re dragging yourself through the day, feeling completely drained? Yeah, me too. Lately, the Seven of Swords has been appearing in my tarot readings over and over again. This card is all about questioning what’s going on beneath the surface, especially when something just feels off. And honestly? I can’t ignore it anymore.
I believe it’s a reminder to pay attention to my thoughts—because the way I think might be affecting my energy more than I realize. And that realization has me questioning: What if my fears and doubts are actually holding me back more than my circumstances?
Releasing the Illusion of Safety
In my last blog post, I shared about my breakup and the major transition I’m going through. I’ve been letting go of the “safety” I once clung to—the version of life I thought I was supposed to have. And while stepping into the unknown is terrifying, I can finally feel clarity breaking through the confusion.
But clarity alone isn’t enough. Moving forward takes strength. If I can stay aware of my thoughts, own my past mistakes, and fully step into self-awareness, I can create something real—something that actually feels true to me.
Fear and Overthinking: Are You Standing in Your Own Way?
If any of this resonates with you, you’re not alone. The unknown can feel overwhelming, but it’s part of the journey. The truth is, there’s always a key next to the door—are we making things more complicated than they need to be? Sometimes, things are easier than we think. We just have to trust that we’re supported in ways we may not always see.
For me, one of my biggest struggles is worrying about money. I overthink every detail, trying to control everything. My mind spirals: What if I end up homeless? What if I can’t find an affordable place? What if it’s all too expensive? The fear takes over so quickly. But instead of drowning in worst-case scenarios, why not focus on the progress I’ve already made?
I’ve also realized that avoiding fear is a pattern of mine. Instead of facing it, I make impulsive choices just to escape it. I cling to people, places, or routines that give me a false sense of security. But the truth? Overthinking drains my energy. It keeps me stuck in what’s wrong instead of what’s possible. The opportunities I need are already in front of me—I’m the one standing in my own way.
Where Does This Need for Control Come From?
I don’t have to prove myself. I don’t have to hold on to outdated ideas of what “safety” means. But if I’m being honest, this need for control isn’t random—it’s something I learned in childhood.
Growing up, I watched my mom’s unhappiness create chaos, and my response was to control everything I could. If I could just manage my environment, I thought I could keep things from falling apart. Now, as an adult, I see how I’ve carried that same habit into my life. I cling to a false sense of security, convinced that if I can just control my circumstances, I’ll be okay.
But that’s not real safety. That’s fear talking.
Redefining Safety: Trusting the Unknown
The fear of uncertainty whispers that if I could just control my environment—control the people around me—I would finally feel safe. But that’s an illusion. True safety isn’t about material things or clinging to the past. It’s about trusting myself.
Moving forward, I don’t have to make a permanent decision. What I need most is an environment that supports my confidence and self-worth—a space that keeps me active, creative, and connected. That’s what I’m choosing to seek.
Conclusion: What Are You Holding Onto?
If you’ve been struggling with uncertainty, fear, or the need to control your circumstances, ask yourself: Am I holding onto something that no longer serves me? Am I standing in my own way?
Letting go isn’t easy—but what if releasing control is the very thing that opens the door to something better? What if the unknown is actually where the magic happens?
I challenge you to sit with this today. Where can you release the need to control? Where can you trust yourself more? Maybe, just maybe, the life you truly want is waiting for you on the other side of surrender.
